Every night, Bin’s father encourages him to brush his teeth by making up a fun song about brushing. Bin loves it! He laughs, grabs his toothbrush, and excitedly joins in—quite a change from before when he used to hate brushing his teeth.
Seeing their 5-year-old son brush his teeth on his own every morning, even helping to get toothbrushes and toothpaste ready—and sometimes even “correcting” his parents’ brushing technique—makes Mr. and Mrs. Bình very happy. But achieving this result wasn’t easy; they had to try many different methods.
At first, every time they took Bin to the bathroom and handed him a toothbrush, he would resist, squirm, and even scream. Sweet talk and threats like, “If you don’t brush your teeth, you’ll get cavities, and the dentist will have to pull them all out—it’ll hurt a lot!” didn’t work either.
It wasn’t until a friend suggested turning brushing into a game and making up songs that Bin became excited and started brushing his teeth willingly.
Parents should take proper care of their children’s oral hygiene.
